Bruce Peck

Bruce Peck was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. It only took one year of studying architecture to scare him far, far away from the arts and into a lifelong career as a CPA. That career took him all over the US and Canada and kept the left side of his brain on overload. For almost 30 years, his most artistic endeavor was clipping coupons from the Sunday paper. Then, he moved to the Gulf Coast of Florida. Playing on some of the top-ranked beaches in North America turned out to be his path back to his lost love for creating art. Sculpting has ultimately led Bruce to become one of "all y'all"! That's right...he is now a Texan after settling down in Houston last summer. Bruce has been competing against the best in the world at the Master Level for a few years now. He placed in the medals here before and considers his time at Texas SandFest the highlight of the year! Be sure to wish him luck again this year!

Amanda Bolduc

Amanda Bolduc is a master sand sculptor hailing from Estero, Florida whose passion for sand sculpting ignited in 2006 during a family vacation to Fort Myers Beach, FL. Inspired by the art form, she began attending sand sculpting events annually, eventually deciding to try her hand at creating her own sculptures. Before embarking on her artistic journey, Amanda earned a degree in Psychology from the University of Maine at Farmington while serving in the Marine Army National Guard. She later became a Combat Engineer Officer, but transitioned to homeschooling her 3 children as her family grew. She recently started a new chapter in her life selling real estate in SW Florida. Amanda's dedication to sand sculpting led her to compete across the United States, advancing to the rank of Master Sculptor. She has participated in prestigious events across the US. Beyond sand, Amanda also explored snow sculpting. Since 2015, she has competed at the U.S. National Snow Sculpting Championship and the World Snow Sculpting Championships as team USA, alongside fellow sand competitors Bruce Peck and Dan Belcher. Amanda's journey reflects her commitment to transforming natural elements into ephemeral works of art, captivating audiences nationwide.

Karen Fralich

Karen was introduced to sand sculpture while working in a pottery studio in 1994 and immediately became addicted. 30 years later, the love affair continues! Although she has no formal art training, her passion, curiosity and many incredible mentors lead her to embrace this unusual career. In 1998, she entered her first international sand sculpting contest and by 2001 she was working full time as a freelance sculptor travelling all over the world. She specializes in fantasy and whimsical themes but loves to sculpt anything. To date, Karen has competed in over 150 Master's Level international sand sculpture contests and won many titles, including 30 First Place Titles and 5 World Championship Titles! Her work takes her around the world, collaborating with sand sculpture companies and friends in Canada, the USA, Japan, Mexico, Italy, Holland, Russia, China, Spain, England, UAE, South Korea, Taiwan and Australia. Karen last participated in Texas SandFest in 2011 and is very excited to return after an 11 year hiatus!

Isabelle.jpg

Isabelle Gasse

Isabelle Gasse was nudged into finding her artistic destiny at the tender age of 16 thanks to an art teacher who encouraged her to compete in a local amateur snow sculpting event in Quebec Canada, her hometown. A fast-rising professional in the snowy and icy art, she is now shaping her frost fantasies in worldwide events, Ice Hotel of Quebec among others, and brought home lots of awards. Monumental and ephemeral sculptures are now the way for her to show a little more poetry in this world. In a move from a snowsuit to sandals, she swapped her ice-carving gadgets for a beach bum toolkit to be able to enjoy the delightful feeling of the sun while carving. And that's how, since 2021, she has been bringing her surrealistic style to many sand events, such as the Canadian Race against the Tide TV show.

Todd.jpg

Todd Pangborn

Driven by a need to desire and create, Todd turned that need into a mechanical design and Engineering career spanning over 40 years. After that need was satisfied, he turned his attention to the desire. The desire, coupled with a restlessness, turned into a 17 year long sand sculpting affair. It wasn't quick and he wasn't always sure it would flourish but he liked how it made him feel when he accomplished something new and saw the expressions on spectators faces as they admired his artwork. Those feelings kept the drive alive and pushed him to keep pursuing the dream. After a brief courtship as an advanced amateur filled with success, learning and building his confidence, he stepped into the world of master sand sculptor in 2014 with the full support of his understanding wife and 2 daughters. Even though he is self-taught, the passion for art and the desire to create keeps pushing him forward. However, sand sculpting is still just a part time endeavor that gives him much-needed break from his typical day as a Mechanical Engineer. Todd is also an award-winning wood carver making wall hanging art as well as full sculptural carvings which are available for purchase. He hopes to expand his wood carving and sand sculpting into retirement activities in the near future. His woodcarvings and sand sculptures can be found on Instagram and Facebook.
